Today we visited Jaranwala in Pakistan In recent times the homes of Christians and Churches have been burnt by religious fanatics. It was heart breaking for me to visit and listen to one Girl tell me her sad story. She says “my mother is no more with us. My father spent the last three years working hard to earn the dowry for my marriage. My wedding was planned for September the 11th & 12th this year but now there is nothing left. All of the money that my Father saved was burned in the fire that also destroyed our home. My father is old and can't work anymore to afford my dowry. Without help , I will never marry and will remain a widow for life. Says Sidra Fayyaz “ It is hard for a westerner to understand what this means for a woman living in Pakistan. In our culture, a woman must always have a man for her protection and provision. In our country we have almost no government social benefits available to us. After this girls, father dies she is at risk of becoming destitute unless she is able to marry and have a family of her own. Thank you so much for your love, prayers and loyal support.
