Building Hope

Who we are

WakeUp began as a Christian ministry inspired by a dream God placed on Anna’s heart. Four weeks after writing this dream in her journal, Anna— aged 15—tragically passed away in a road accident on 1 May 2005. In her journal, she described her vision of starting a youth Christian band called Wake Up, a band that would share God’s love, bring hope to the homeless, and lead people to Jesus through music.

Today, through the WakeUp 121 ministry, we carry that dream forward. Our mission is to help people across Asia become followers of Jesus. In many places, this work is slowed down by challenges like illiteracy, poverty, forced labour, or imprisonment. When this happens, we follow Jesus’ example by working with local communities to break both spiritual and physical hardship, bringing hope and freedom to those who need it most.

We imitate Christ by striving to partner with locals to bring an end to spiritual and physical oppression.

Our Mission Areas

Students are trained to lead worship, facilitate bible studies, and build meaningful, loving relationships with all people from all walks of life.

To further this mission, we are seeking support to provide seed funding for pastors to train and release more disciples in urban and remote regions.

We plan to raise leaders to open more home based discipleship training centres for the equipping and sending of all believers.

WakeUp 121 discipleship training schools are designed to teach practical christianity empowering locals to disciple locals.

While we equip believers through discipleship, we also extend outward—reaching the lost by demonstrating the love of Jesus in practical service and holistic care.

Graduates from the Discipleship Schools are supported when possible, freeing them up to travel to neighbouring villages to preach the gospel.

Evangelism

We hope to place Bibles into the hands of as many new believers as possible, helping them grow in their faith from the very beginning.

In Pakistan, many people don’t have their own bible or a bible in their own language.

Education

We are committed to breaking this cycle by providing sponsorships that give children access to a Christian education and women the opportunity to learn essential reading and writing skills.

In Pakistan, at least 60% of women cannot read or write, and many children are unable to receive an education because they begin working at a very young age. This cycle of illiteracy keeps families trapped in poverty for generations.

Community

WakeUp 121 partners with local churches who negotiate to have families released from all their debts, provided with accommodation and training to start a new life.

At the same time they are offered spiritual support by the local christians if they are interested in learning about the Gospel.
